Mike was a friend, mentor and brother in business with Fred Ostertag and Kevin Mills. In addition to the Omelet House Mike started many restaurant concepts in Las Vegas. He installed the first drivethru window in LV at the Rancho and Bonanza location. Later, he opened Alias Smith and Jones, a wildly popular watering hole at Paradise and Twain and then went on to open the Burger Garden on Flamingo. In 1979 he opened the Garden Eatery at Charleston and Rancho to try and capture the breakfast, lunch and dinner market in that area. When it became apparent that dinner was not going to be popular in that location he changed to the Omelet house concept to focus exclusively on breakfast and lunch.
